Historic Event -Submit a Proposal
Join us in providing the educational girders as the Washington State University and University of Idaho extension programs collaborate by "Bridging Borders" for a dynamic 4-H Youth Development experience -- capitalizing on each state's strengths. As faculty, staff and key volunteers throughout the Pacific Northwest, you are invited to share your riveting expertise and innovative practices to empower 4-H adults and teens as they forge ahead. With over 400 attendees expected, experience the elation that comes with helping others become successful. You have a wealth of knowledge to share; so please don't be shy - APPLY!
We specifically are seeking interactive experiential presentations which promote these Forum objectives:
- Feature innovative programming within: technology, textiles, leadership, livestock, equine and environmental areas
- Promote implementation of SET (Science Engineering & Technology) skills
- Enhance teamwork and leadership development
- Encourage the development of Service Learning
Workshop Features:
Friday: 2
- 5 hours (in-depth track workshops with multiple segments
targeting a specific
topic/area.)
Saturday: 75
minute or 2.5 hour sessions (features diverse topics that support
positive youth
development.)
Criteria for Selection
- Clarity of learning objectives and workshop description
- Appropriateness of topic and potential for practical application by a multi-state audience
- Evidence that interactive/experiential teaching methods will be used
- Relevance to current trends that build upon Forum objectives
General Information
- Presenters are responsible for preparation of all handouts.
- The Forum committee will furnish screens, easels, newsprint and markers
(mobile computer lab may be available upon request.)
Laptop computers, LCD projectors, TV/VCRs are the responsibility of the presenter - Volunteers selected as primary presenters (not receiving
other sources of Forum reimbursement) will be eligible to pay a discounted
"Presenter" registration fee which will be approximately
half of the normal fee.
Workshop Proposals must be received electronically by March 15, 2010.
Proposal submitters will receive confirmation of acceptance or declination by May 1, 2010
