Animal Sciences - Poultry

GBC Poultry Project

Objectives:

  • learn to use accepted practices for mental, physical, and emotional health, and to respect yourself and others
  • develop skills, knowledge, and attitudes for lifelong use
  • practice leadership skills and roles, take part in community affairs, and demonstrate citizenship responsibility
  • develop integrity, sportsmanship, decision making capability, and public speaking skills through participation in demonstrations, tours, judging, or exhibits
  • learn and apply recommended principles of poultry production
  • demonstrate a knowledge of sound breeding, feeding, and management practices
  • identify breeds, types of poultry, and employ efficient marketing methods
  • explore career, job, and productive leisure opportunities
