Military Teen Adventure Camps

WSU Extension 4-H Youth Development Program

backpackHow would you like to spend time whitewater rafting, hiking, rock climbing, winter camping, skiing, sailing, backpacking, exploring the environment, kayaking, running rope courses, practicing wilderness skills? What if you could do these activities with other military youth just like you?

Well, here is your chance! Through a special partnership between the Department of Defense, Office of Military Community & Family Policy and the United States Department of Agriculture/National Institute of Food & Agriculture, military youth ages 14–18  can experience (at little to no cost) a variety of high adventure camp opportunities throughout 2011 and 2012. These high energy, high adventure, and high experience camps are being funded all across the United States—from Alaska to Georgia and states in between. This is the perfect chance for you to experience the outdoors as you never have before! Each camp offers a unique outdoor camping experience that will allow you to build your leadership, self-confidence, and teamwork skills while participating in activities like camp cooking and archery. You will make friends and share experiences with other military youth just like yourself.

How to learn more and register

To join in the fun and meet other military youth from across the country while enjoying an exciting high adventure camping event, check out the list below. There are many different camp opportunities for teen campers. The primary audience for these camps are military teens in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.  The camps are listed chronologically.

Worried about transportation costs? Each camp has funding available to assist with transportation costs depending on the distance and your method of travel.
