Traveling to the Western
Regional
4-H Leaders Forum
Traveling to the ship can be stressful. Planning ahead will ease some of those anxieties. Here are some simple tips to help you. First, how will you arrive in Seattle - by airplane, car, train or bus?
Arriving by Airplane
We do not have a recommended airline for the Forum. You may either book a Fly Cruise Plan through Holland America or book your flight and transfer from the airport on your own. On days of sailing, Holland America representatives will be stationed in the airport baggage claim area or outside the customs area (depending on local customs regulations), to greet guests and assist those who are eligible to be transferred to the pier. You will recognize our representatives by their Holland America signs. If you don't see our representatives, please have one paged. Please note: This service is available only on days of sailing.
Fly Cruise Plan through Holland America Line
This plan features transportation from a number of cities to the cruise, as well as transfers between the airport and ship on sailing day. You may take advantage of the Fly Cruise plan, which is offered at an additional charge to your cruise fare. For more information go to:
http://www.hollandamerica.com/
Booking your own flight and airport transfer
You may book your own flight to and from SeaTac Airport. The airport is located about 30 minutes from the cruise terminal. It is recommended that those not purchasing Holland America’s Fly Cruise Plan allow adequate time for transfer between the airport and pier, customs inspections and airport security checks. You should allow at least 3 – 5 hours for arrival and 3 ½ - 5 ½ hours for departure.
If you purchase air transportation independently from Holland America Line, you will be responsible for any and all expenses incurred when joining the vessel in progress.

Holland America Transfer
- Transfers may be purchased from SeaTac airport to the ship and from the ship to the SeaTac airport for the day of sailing only (i.e. May 7 and 14). Transfers are available to Fly Cruise guests and to guests who have independent flight plans. Approximate cost $56.00 per person round trip. Guests with independent flight arrangements must advise Holland America Line of this information at least 14 days prior to sailing. You may take advantage of our Online Check-in to submit your information or call 800-426-0327 5:00 am to 7:00 pm PT Monday-Friday and 6:00 am to 5:00 pm PT Saturday and Sunday. Reservations, payment, and flight arrival information are required at least 14 days prior to your sailing date. http://www.hollandamerica.com/
Taxi/Shuttle Service
- Pick-up service to and from the cruise terminal (Pier 91) is available. Taxi or town car service to/from the airport ranges from $40 - $50 for the approximate 20 - 30 minute drive.
- Shuttle service available from Shuttle Express (Currently: $36/per person one way, $62 per person round trip or $100 one way for an exclusive group of 10).
Arriving By Automobile
Pier 91 is located north of downtown Seattle in Smith Cove. For driving directions to Pier 91 go to: http://www.portseattle.org/about/maps/directions-t91.shtml . Please be aware of events in Seattle that may affect travel times such as professional baseball or soccer games and festivals or running events.
Where do I park my car?
Parking during the Western Regional 4-H Leaders Forum is something to carefully consider. You have several options.
Park at the Cruise Terminal:
First you may park at the Pier 91 Cruise Terminal. (http://www.portseattle.org/seaport/cruise/parkingandtransportation.shtml ). This option is easy and a shuttle will take you to the terminal from the parking lot.
Park near the Airport and take a taxi or shuttle:
Another option is to park at a lot near the airport and take a taxi, town car or shuttle service to the cruise terminal. SeaTac Park offers this service inclusively (http://www.seatacpark.com/news-cruise-parking.aspx). At other lots you will have to arrange for your own taxi or town car to the cruise terminal (the lot will be able to assist you with this when you make your parking reservation). A taxi from the airport area to the cruise terminal will cost approximately $40.00 - $50.00. Here is a list of airport parking lots (http://www.seattletravel.com/seatac-parking.html).
Shuttle services also operate from the airport to the cruise terminal. You would park at an off-site lot, take their shuttle to the airport and transfer to the shuttle service you have reserved. Shuttle Express (Currently $36/per person one way, $62 per person round trip or $100 one way for an exclusive group of 10).
Sleep, Park Cruise:
If you are coming from a distance and would like to spend Friday night at a hotel before the conference there are many hotels that offer a night’s lodging, parking for a week and transfer to and from the cruise terminal. The hotels vary in price and distance to the cruised terminal:

Arriving by Train or Bus
- Amtrak: After arriving at King Street Station in Seattle’s International District, take a taxi to Pier 91 for about $15 - $20.
- Greyhound: After arriving at the Greyhound Bus Station at Olive and 8th, take a taxi to Pier 91 for about $15.
