At this year’s Forum you will have the opportunity to:
Recharge with great speakers
Saturday kicks off with Mac Bledsoe, President and Founder of Parenting with Dignity. Mac Bledsoe is a career schoolteacher and football coach of 29 years’ experience, with 3 “Crystal Apples” as the Teacher of the Year from three school districts where he has taught. Mac has the gift of communicating with people, young and old alike, on a level where intellectual thought meets emotional excitement. Attendees will laugh, cry, and come away with immediately useful insight.
What Forum in Rodeo City would be complete without a Rodeo Clown? Our Capstone speaker on Sunday morning will be JJ Harrison. He has made fast work of a clowning career. Entering his third year in the PRCA he has quickly become one of the most sought after rodeo clowns. His quick wit, walk and talk antics have proven to be his best act. With the help of fat suits and dancing, he entertains with high energy family fun that can entertain across the whole age spectrum. As a former teacher he knows the balance of physical humor and acts to keep even the avid rodeo fan entertained. My favorite quote of his is: "It's not an act, it really is just who I am. I really am that goofy." his entertainer is sure to be a welcome site to any rodeo!
Hone your skills at a variety of workshops
On Friday and Saturday you will have the opportunity to gain new knowledge and learn new skills at over 60 workshop sessions. Friday will feature longer, more in-depth workshops. Saturday will feature a wide array of workshops that highlight the diverse offerings of 4-H. To See all the workshops offered go to The Forum Workshop link.
Celebrate and recognize volunteers and supporters
Each State will hold their own recognition banquet for their state’s outstanding volunteers and supporters. Washington will also be inducting new members into the Washington 4-H Hall of Fame. This recognition event is made possible by the support of Monsanto Inc.
See Old Friends at the 4-H Alumni Reception
This year will be the Sixth Annual 4-H Alumni Reception. It will be held on
Saturday evening just before the 4-H Charity Auction and Dinner. If you are a 4-H Alumnus, come and reconnect with old friends, make new friends and share the memories you have about being
in 4-H.
Enjoy 4-H Live and Silent Charity Auctions
We will have a number of silent auctions throughout the day on Saturday. Saturday night after dinner will feature the gala 4-H Live Charity Auction. Be sure to donate items to bring in revenue to 4-H locally and at the state level:

Provide input to the Washington State 4-H Programs
On Sunday morning the 4-H Council meeting is open to all. At the Council meeting, each District elects representatives to the 4-H State Advisory Board and State 4-H Fair Board of Trustees. Project committees review the suggested changes and improvements to the 4-H Program and recommend their acceptance or rejection. Committees that finish their agenda items can use the extra time to discuss issues facing their project area. Voting delegates are elected by counties and are based on enrollment statistics. The deadline for board applications and council recommendations is September 1st each year. These forms are available from your local WSU Extension office. Committees without Council recommendations and projects groups are welcome to meet and discuss issues and share ideas about their area.
Last but not Least - network with other volunteers and have FUN!
