Shooting Sports
--Paul Carter

The Columbia County 4-H Marksmen Club sponsored a state shotgun training event October 20-21, 2007. The event was attended by 6 adult leaders and 2 junior leaders from Columbia County . Paul Carter, Columbia County Extension Director, was the Nationally Certified instructor and provided binders containing lesson plans and information to assist leaders in training 4-H members and teaching life skills while learning to shoot shotguns. All attendees were trained in methods and procedures of instruction and safety. Each participant played the role of student and instructor with each other throughout the training period multiple times to gain a solid first hand knowledge and understanding to provide leadership for the club.

To learn more about shooting sports training contact Paul Carter at cart@wsu.edu or Janet Schmidt at schmidtj@wsu.edu.
