Learn More about the Miniature Horse
--Hilary Schult, NWMHC Clinic Coordination Support

What do you know about the miniature horse? Interested in expanding your small equine knowledge? Then join us Saturday and Sunday, March 1 and 2 in Longview, Washington at the largest miniature horse educational event in the Northwest!

From the basics to more advance topics, anyone with an enthusiasm or curiosity for the miniature horse world can build a solid foundation of equine knowledge at the Northwest Miniature Horse Club Annual Schooling Clinic. Basic care, show preparation, clipping techniques, training methods and dwarfism awareness are among the many categories to be discussed by trainers, field professionals and lifetime horse breeders. Come with questions and find educated, experienced answers.

The schooling clinic spans two days. Day one holds lecture format classes with many live demonstrations. Learn step by step how to correctly harness your horse, how to properly dress a face for show and the essentials for conditioning, feeding and overall miniature horse care. Even if you don't have a miniature horse, everyone can learn from day one's amazing courses.

Day two's classes are hands-on courses and clinic participants can bring their own horses to physically practice learned training techniques. Acquire education from some of the best trainers on the west coast while learning about the most common events found in the miniature horse world. Driving basics, halter practice, liberty advice, showmanship tips and the perfect jumping and hunter technique are some of the courses scheduled. This format allows trainers to give participants individual recommendations as they learn. Don't have a miniature horse to bring? Bring along a chair and listen from the side!

Admission is free for all schooling clinic classes. Bring questions and a readiness to expand your equine knowledge. All classes will be held at the Cowlitz County Fairgrounds in Longview , Washington on March 1 and 2. More information can be found at http://www.nwmhc.com under “Show and Events”. Have questions or want directions? Write Hilary Schult at hilaryschult@hotmail.com or call Kim Schult at (360) 561-3018. We look forward to seeing you there!
