Help Their Community
Paper towels, food, and clothing were a few of the many items donated to the Tri-City Union Gospel Mission by over 25 4-H clubs in Benton/Franklin counties.
Club members braved 22-degree temperatures to sort and stuff items from 4-Hers and community members during the all-club community service project December 5.
Clothing for children, women, and men was collected as well as toiletries, kitchen, and hygiene items.
“Our 4-Hers recognize that many people in our community go hungry every day or they don’t have the clothes they need to keep warm,” said Natalie Kinion, WSU Franklin County 4-H Extension Educator. “They were eager to take part and gathered as much food and clothing as they could to help make a difference.”
Plans are now underway for the next all-club community service project. Over 1,200 youth take part in the Benton/Franklin County 4-H program.
