King County 4-H Club Joins International Effort to Raise Money for Japan

4-H member with cranesKnowing how to help earthquake victims in Japan proved as simple as folding paper for a group of King County 4-H’ers.  Youth from “A Book of Adventure” 4-H Club made over 100 cranes and gave them to the Bezoes Family Foundation which donated two dollars per crane to relief efforts in Japan.    Entire story

in Regional Robotics Competition

4-H engineering coverOver 125 youth from Washington State 4-H clubs added their expertise, enthusiasm, and various levels of engineering abilities at the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) regional robotics competition.  They comprised eight of 100 teams who each designed, built and programmed a robot during the allotted six week time period.     Entire story

Question of the Month

What does 4-H offer you as a teen?

I like getting to know other people and how I can bond with others.  Through 4-H I’ve been Michelleable to get to know a lot more people.  4-H gets me connected.  I’ve also learned how I can get money for college.

4-H has helped me learn about college and jobs.  DanielI’ve made some good friends in 4-H.  I want to learn more about future possibilities after high school and college and different careers and 4-H provides that.
