WSU Extension 4-H Youth Development Program

How long have you been at the county office?
Four years.

Where did you grow up?
In the Silicon Valley area of California and Olympia, Washington.

Favorite activities/interests:
Cooking, gardening, golfing, and spending time with family.

What do you enjoy most about working in 4-H?
My favorite parts of the 4-H year are scholarship interviews, County Fair, and All Star Achiever interviews where I get to hear from youth what they have learned and what excites them.

How have you seen 4-H help youth as they develop and grow?
I continue to be surprised and pleased by the number of alums who return from their first year of college celebrating the advantage that 4-H, particularly record keeping and public demonstrations, has given them over their classmates.

What else would be good to know?
I'm excited that we in Washington have twice the number of volunteers per youth than the national average and are working to strengthen our training and evaluation systems to better achieve and document the intended program outcomes.
